I saw this film when it was projected for the first time in Paris.
As it still is pretty hard to find koreans films in cinema in France, I couldn't miss this opportunity.
Before the film started there was a little introduction by a staff member. In this introduction, it was said that
the director, Lee Su-jin, had said in a previous interview that if he could only do one film in his career, he would have chosen to do this one.
He also said that the reason was, because he thinks that it is an important task to denunces this korean society's problem
which is shown through this film.
The story starts when the main character Han Gong-ju is being transfered in a new high school, and her previous school's teacher recommend to
her to not let her new whereabout known by her father. This is when we usually try to guess the reason of her transfer.
We slowly discover the truth behind all those secrets.
But since I don't want to spoil the story,
I will only make a brief comment :
I was particularly shocked and frustrated by all the hypocrisy of the people around her. This was a good movie which will be hard to forget
for sure. That's whay I think that the director did succeed in delivering the message he wanted.
If you have seen this movie you are welcome to leave your own impressions about it. If not, it is not to late to watch it !
